Biosense logoWe’re delighted to announce the launch of BioSense; a collaborative project between Peter O’Brien and Sons Landscaping, Nature+ and a number of business owners. “We’ve been working on this for several years, but like many projects, it was delayed due to the pandemic,” commented, Barry Lupton. “BioSense is an exciting project targeted at bringing together stakeholders with a view increasing potential economic, social and environmental returns on commercial landscapes.”

“Nature+ is at the forefront of research and development in the area of nature-based solutions,” says Marcus Collier. “Our mission is to find new ways to gain and manage sustainable benefits from nature. We undertake research into solutions for the valuation, sustainable use and renewal of Natural Capital underlying ecosystem service supply and benefits. Collaborating with Peter O’Brien and Sons and their clients represents a first of a kind opportunity in an Irish context. And one we plan to build on.”

The project is expected to run over several years and will see a number of researchers placed on live commercial sites undertaking a variety of experimental and research-focused projects. Lead researcher, Fiona Nulty is thrilled about getting started; “I come from an architectural background, so having the opportunity to participate in such a multidisciplinary project focused on maximising economic and environmental benefits is very exciting. We have a lot of work ahead of us, but we have a shared vision and determination to deliver.”
