The O’Brien’s team work on a large number of high profile landscape scheme every year and they don’t come more high profile than the New Dun Laoghaire Library. A focal emement in the ongoing development of the South Dublin town, the library has sturred more than a little debate about the Irish architecture. Writing in the Times last week, Frank MacDonald called it ‘Exceptionally well built… a model of environmentally conscious design’. For our part, we installed all of the soft landscaping, which included the craning in of over 500 tonnes of soil into a sunken courtyard garden and planting of numerous seven metre bamboos. Easy for the O’Brien’s team!
